In the heart of Thomson, GA, where the charm of the South meets elegance, lies the Bordeaux Event Center. This venue became a beacon of hope and celebration for a couple whose original wedding plans were disrupted by Hurricane Helene. With the assistance of the Bordeaux team, they transformed a challenging situation into a day of love, and unforgettable memories.

Overcoming Unexpected Challenges


Every couple dreams of their perfect wedding day, meticulously planning each detail to ensure a seamless celebration. However, nature sometimes has other plans. When Hurricane Helene damaged their original venue, this couple faced a significant hurdle. With the wedding date fast approaching, they turned to Bordeaux Event Center for guidance. This change of plans not only salvaged their wedding day but also introduced them to a location that perfectly complemented their vision.

Bordeaux was also facing some unforeseen changes in staffing, and needed assistance in coordinating the event. They enlisted in Sammond Events’ expertise to assist the staff in managing the event. Sammond Events was thrilled to be able to be a part of the beautiful day and get an early February start to the Spring wedding season.


A Touch of Southern Elegance

Before the festivities at Bordeaux Event Center began, the couple exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony at their local church. Surrounded by family and friends, they celebrated their union in a place that held deep personal significance. The church’s timeless beauty and serene atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for their commitment to one another. What made this feature stand out was the inclusion of their mother’s wedding dresses on display and their wedding portraits.
